Jackie McAllister is an artist and writer, living and working in New York. He has exhibited at institutions including Moderna Museet, Stockholm; Neue Galerie am Landesmuseum Graz; Le Consortium, Dijon; and Kunstverein Hamburg, Akademie —Kunst lehren und lernen (2005), a collaboration with Mark Dion. He was Vice-President, American Fine Arts, Co., from 1989 to 1992. Since 2001, he has been President of The McAllister Institute (Gareth James being founding Director), where presentations in the Tight Little Room have included Nils Norman, Merlin Carpenter, Florian Zeyfang, Dave Beech, Simon Bedwell and BANK, Sarah Staton, Ross Knight, Mark Dion and students from Columbia University, Jeremy Glogan, Adam McEwen, Michael Krebber and Rachel Harrison (together). He has contributed to publications such as Afterall, Artforum, Grand Street, and Malik Gaines’ Yard: A Magazine by Artists.
