Under the influence of the palindrome, Ludlow 38 will celebrate the new year with a short evening on terminal delay, windbag tautology!!, and objects making feedback make objects.
You’ll be sitting there, a speck in the void, in the dark, like me. You’ll remember advertising slogans saying, “Like an ox-cart driver in monsoon season or the skipper of a grounded ship or a crab one must sometimes go forward by going back.”
You’ll remember the future. You’ll write in palindromes like a parrot. You’ll realize you’re tired. You’ll think, I’ll close my eyes. When you open them again there’ll be no wall any more. Emptiness will surround you, all the reanimated dead of all the ages wouldn’t fill it, and there you’ll be, like a little bit of grit in the middle of the steppe. There your echo will come as the first noise you make.
Might it best be said, it might, that the palindrome will keep on talking, only to tell us it has nothing to say. This then might be an evening of nothing, but nothing you’ve already heard.
